    How does one define "traitor"?
    What constitutes "betrayal"?
If a son works with the enemy to put his father in prison, does he betray his own father? Is he considered a traitor?
Lies are deceiving. Yet partial truths can be, if not more than, as deceiving as the lies. What we see may not be what it really is, for we don*t always get to see the whole picture.

Can two enemies, fighting against each other for survival, become friends?
Will they be willing to risk their own life so that the other one can live?
Can they work together for a common cause?
This is the story of M and G.

M was very angry. His family had suffered tremendously during his father*s absence. No one helped them, not even M*s uncle.
M decided to buy a gun to kill the enemy. He bought a gun from a trusted source, but the gun did not work. The purchase led to M*s arrest by the enemy. He was 17 years old, and was to take the final exam and graduate from high school in a few weeks.

M's father is an Imam, a leader among his people. M is his father's oldest son and the oldest child. The leadership position did not bring them wealth; they barely got by. His father took a second job at a Christian school to support the family.

M loved his father very much, and tried to accompany him everywhere. His father was a very religious man, and M saw him pray to his god several times a day. He observed his father's every move and listened carefully when his father spoke. His father was his virtue and his religion.

M saw how hard his father work for the people. He also saw the respect and admiration towards his father in people's eyes. Yet he did not understand why no one came to his family's aids, or supported the family emotionally when M's family encountered hardships during his father's imprisonments.

Lying on the floor of a jeep, with throbbing pain on his head and in his swollen eye from the butt-strokes of one enemy soldier, M thought about his father, mother and younger siblings. He did not know how his mother was goning to manage the household and support the family now with his arrest. He wondered whether he would be able to see them again. M was terrified.

M was brought to the enemy's interrogation center - the "Slaughter House". He was fed twice a day. There were no physical beatings. But, except for short meal time and toilet breaks, M sat on and was chained to a chair day and night, listening to the same song playing over and over and over through a loud speaker, hour after hour, day after day. The psychological torture, the mental pressure and the aches and pain over his body were unbearable.

One day, an enemy captain met with M. He asked M what had happened to his eye and told M that it was against the enemy's rules that the soldier beat him up, and that he would investigate the incident. He also made M an offer---an offer to work for the enemy as a collaborator.

Upon the enemy's final attempt to recruit M, M eventually agreed to work for the enemy. But his real intention was to work as a double agent, obtain the enemy's top secrets and weaponry and kill the enemy.

After 3 months in the detention center, M was sent to a prison and shared the prison camp with people from his own affiliation. Everyday, they followed their religious rituals, read, and prayed in the open. They also talked to each other, played "ball catching", and watched TV.

What troubled M the most in the prison was torture. The pain from tortures and beatings on his fellow prisoners were not inflicted by the enemy prison guards, but by prisoners. He witnessed them fabricating lies against their own and torturing the innocent, sometimes to the point of death. Deliberately, the lies even went beyond prison gates and reached the families and communities. Day and night, the screaming and torture went on.
