We took Lorkulup of the Rongai Pride by surprise as much as he surprised us. He had been basking in the rising sun when we drove on the road by the long grass looking for the rest of the pride.He did give us a nice pose though.Image taken with Iphone Pro Max on the third day of my trip to Masai Mara in early May 2024.

King of Rongai!
King Lolkulup and Oloimina are the proud owners of the Rongai Pride in Maasai Mara. This pride is currently one of the biggest in the Maasai Mara with nearly 30 mouths to feed, they do not hunt anything smaller than a Buffalo.
King Lolkulup was on his honeymoon with one of the pride females and was a bit further away from the other pride members.
